Some of them are really quite good. I'm a big fan of Belgian beers, and I've found a few American versions that I believe rival, or nearly rival, the genuine article - for example, Goose Island's Matilda is marvelous, Allagash Curieux (oak-aged) is innovative and original, and New Belgium's La Folie is as wild as some of the wildest Belgian examples.
