Favorite Beer Quote:
“I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.”

If you could have a beer with anyone (dead or alive) it would be:
I'll enjoy a good beer with nearly anyone...
About Me:
For years I have dreamt about making my own home brewed beer. I'm finally making that dream a reality! I will be documenting my experiences here in the hopes of enabling others to learn from my mistakes, swap "war stories" and hopefully have some fun in the process.
In time, I hope to convert my site into a community driven discussion for brewing your own beer and all things beer related. Anything from home brew kits, how to's, recipes, beer reviews, beer diets, to general beer discussions will be fair game. In the mean time, I invite you to join me as I embark on a brave new journey into home brewing! Cheers!
It's all about the beer... Homebrewing, recipes, home brew kits and how to's, beer reviews and taste test, favorite micro-breweries and local pubs, road trips and brewery tours, domestic beers and imports, general beer news, discussions and other such tomfoolery...
I'm currently half way through a series related to Home Brewing & Christianity over at my blog: HomeBrewBeer.Net. Please check it out and provide some feedback. I think this is an interesting topic, not often discussed in the home brewing or church sub-cultures. To some it maybe a culture clash, to others, it just makes good sense.… Continue
How do they feel about beer taxes, the price of hops, anti-brewing laws and would THEY like to have a beer with us? I'm hoping to find out... That's why I sent them all some questions in the hopes of posting their responses here.
As a follow up to my recent round of beer reviews featuring some interesting offerings from Flying Dog Brewery,
I took the opportunity to interview Matt Brophy, their Head Brewer,
with the logistical support of Stephanie Kerchner, Flying Dog's PR and
Event Coordinator.
Brian, hope you liked your time in NYC... I read about your time at Brooklyn Brewery, sounds like your visit there was a bit of a dud... Hope you managed to have some fun...

You NYC blog will be helpful when we are in the city next week. Thanks for the info.
My girlfriend is also pretty excited about the beer pong game I just told her about.
Hey Man...no problem....the revamped page looks great. I asked about moving the feed up and it is something that is in the works. I think it would be great for bloggers to move their feeds up more front and center. Saw your trip to McSorley's...that's probably my favorite establishment ever. Love all the history there. Anyway, glad to have you on Democracy's Drink. Looking forward to reading about your next beer adventure. I'm going to get back to recruiting some more beer drinkers to the site. You mind if I use your profile as a reference of how bloggers can promote their site? it turned pretty awesome.

Hey I was just checking out your blog - love the updates. Looks like you had a pretty awesome time in NYC. It made me want to check out the Brooklyn Brewery for a third trip....Anyway, now for a quick how-to on feeding your blog.
Basically on your blog there will somewhere be a place on your window where you can click on the RSS link (its usually an orange icon). That will take you to a webpage that has your blog in a different format. Just copy the address from your browser and then come here. Then go to our feed aggregator/importer window in the (should be) bottom left hand box in your profile. Click on the button in the upper right in this box that says edit. It will cause the RSS box to drop down into a menu where there is a space for you to paste your URL. Do that and then give your feed a title like "My Blog" or "Homebrewbeer.net" Just set that up as you like and then hit save. You should be good to go then. You can check out Stonch's profile or Jeff's as examples. Its a nice feature because people like yourself that have such interesting content coming from your blog in essence are sending a preview here for everyone to discover. Then your site is just one click away.
Thanks for all your contributions so far....cheers
Hey Byron, nice work on the profile - thanks for joining. Let me know if you are interested or need any help importing your blog into the feed feature. It shows you headlines and automatically creates a link to the entry on your blog.
